Acceptance through education, enlightenment and social integration
I've made a few modifications to the profile questions. One of the changes was to be inclusive of the gender non-conforming, third gender, gender queer etc. The second was to help clarify the intentions of those joining that are checking themselves as supporters of the community. These changes were made to help everyone feel welcome and hopefully make the site a little safer for all. There may be more changes in this area down the road.

It's about time to get the election process going for the positions for the Erie Sisters officers. If you'd like to run for one of the positions or nominate someone else to run, let me know. I will need a photo of all candidates and a letter of intent to publish on the site. The positions are: president, vice president, treasurer, secretary, and outreach coordinator. I'll have some pages up about it in days to come. Official vote tally will be taken at Cabin Fever Weekend.

It came to my attention that the privacy of another member was potentially compromised recently. I sent out a broadcast message concerning this, but if you didn't get it, please review and update your privacy settings on your profile to reflect the privacy settings you require. While no harm was intended, it can be very easy to damage many of the girls here that require confidentiality. If there are any issues regarding this, please contact me or one of the other site…

Ok, that Gala is sadly behind us and it's time to set our sights on the next event, - Cabin Fever Weekend, which will be held at the Avalon hotel in Erie Feb 24 - 26. I'm working on discount tickets to an Erie Otters hockey game on Friday night, the 24th. If this works out and I'm sure it will, it probably will require advance registration/payment to at least this portion of the weekend. I'm also working to have another Erie Sisters celebrity waitress event at Jekyll and Hydes gastropub that…

I recently sent out a broadcast message concerning events during Cabin Fever weekend. We've been offered discount tickets to an Erie Otters hockey game at $10 each on Friday Feb 24th. I need to know how many will attend the game to get the tickets in advance by Feb 8th. Please go to the event below and RSVP there if you want to join us.
We will also conduct a celebrity waitress event for charity that same Friday afternoon. Let me know if you'd like to be a waitress, but be advised there could be TV or other media on site.
The Bayfront convention center will be holding a gold and travel expo over the weekend for those that might want to go to that. Visit http://www.eriegolfshow.com/Golf/Default.aspx
for details. The Brewerie at Union Station will hold a Brewer's Cup home brew festival on Sat with $15 admission. Note the event below for advance sale tickets. If you do not want to get advance tickets, there may be tickets available at the door, but no guarantees.
If you are not receiving the broadcast messages I send out from time to time, please check that you haven't changed e-mail addresses since joining the site. If so, you will need to change your e-mail address in your settings here.

Election of Officers
If you read the note to the left or the broadcast message I sent out, then you know we are at the time to elect officers for the next year. After we have candidates established, information on how to vote will be posted. Note that you must be a paid member to run for office or vote for officers. You may review the candidates by going to this page.

A sub group called elections has been set up also where you can nominate candidates or respond to nominations, as well as ask and answer questions regarding the elections. You can access the group here:

or at the link at the bottom of the page.

This is not a real big deal with me, But I find some photos, like, totally off subject/topic for why I visit this site. Please note I am only speaking for myself, and in no way want to hurt feelings or insult anyone. The photos I am about to mention I have not clicked on, so I do not know the people posting them (yes I will sometime to curious lol). I have many photos of nice beaches, great vacations with family & friends, monuments. Eskimo villages, but none of the space shuttle, some close-up of flowers.I do personalize many of the pictures that I have taken, of places I have been, lived and other experiences. But I think I understand most people don't come here to see a photo that I have taken of a beautiful sunset or something. I mean goggle sunsets, flower or anything, select images and "bingo". As far as viewing photos here, I like to see pic's of other TG's/CD's doing what we do, some take pic's while out, some at home, or the store front where their first make-over was…Continue

I'm sorry, if you happened to try to talk to me on the chat site. The only way Iam on this site is my phone, and for whatever reason that since Iam on my phone I cannot answer anyone. I'm sorry if you tried, Iam by any means stuck up, I could be considered shy til I know someone, but never mean, rude, snobby, or stuck up.

Sitting in my hotel room after spending another great night with my sisters. I've had several girls write to me that I've inspired them to be who they really are. I kind of find that ironic, because it is you, my sister, who inspire me. You inspire me to be a better person, to show the world that we have worth and value. You inspire me to be more kind to all I come in contact with. You inspire me to reach out to others in need, and show to everyone that the transgender community is something beautiful and not to be feared. You inspire me to be the best leader of this group I can be, to make everyone feel welcome and loved. It is truly each and every one of you that is my inspiration. I thank you all for that.

Over the years, people have asked me what the difference is between cross dressers and transsexuals. The most common response by transsexuals and the medical profession is that TS's truly feel imprisoned within their own body, whereas CD's are usually content, at least to some extent, to live dual gender lives. I believe this is true, at least from the standpoint of a TS. It recently occurred to me that both feel a pressure from within to release their feminine side, but the pressure is different. For a CD, the pressure is more like that of an air compressor. It builds pressure until maximum pressure is reached, then by opening an air line, the pressure is released and the pressure drops, only to slowly build up again and be released in a vicious cycle. The TS, on the other hand, is more like the pressure of a water line. You open the tap to release water, but the pressure remains at maximum in the line immediately when the tap is closed. It tears at you night and day until you…Continue

I took a first step today. I purchased two used wigs and some VERY basic cosmetics, as well as two pairs of heels. I also posted my first photo. Yikes! I have such a long way to go. But every journey begins with a single step. I know virtually nothing about makeup and all the other things needed in my transformation. But when I saw myself in crude makeu and a wig, I could see the shadow of the girl I will be someday! It was a wonderful feeling.

I took another baby step in my life this last Saturday when I went out in public as Kaye in my local community. I was asked by some of the ladies from my support group to join them for supper at a local restaurant following our support group meeting. At first, I declined, but my big sister took me aside and told me that if this is the path I intend to follow, then I am going to have to do this sooner or later. I realized she was right and made the decision to go out with the other ladies. I was nervous, but knew this was something I needed to do.It turned into a non event. I went with the mindset that I belonged there. We waited at the front of the restaurant, were seated, ordered our meals, paid the bill, and had a wonderful evening. I realize that I will probably have to give myself the same pep talk when the next opportunity arises, but I do know now that I can do it.Life goes on.....Continue

Our (Julie & Me) Avalon resverations are made, I have to always wonder why in the "Events" page (very top of every page here), very few say they will attend, might attend or cannot attend. The turn-out is ALWAYS whey more than is listed their . . . . whats up with that !!! and I'm not just talking about the CFW, Every event its the same thing ! WTF ( What Thats Fun ) so post Ladies . . . lol Their . . thats of my (flat) chest . . . We had a GREAT time last year, well worth it, a full weekend of doing what we do, with others doing what we do, and enjoy, for some of us being our realself. I am, by no means a passable female, so if your new to going out don't worry, Its a great time to "break the ice" we understand, all of us have been there.♥ MarcieContinue
